I had a really fabulous time last night getting together with my fellow bloggers. We went to Mother’s Café & Garden, which was a fabulous new find for me. I took their recommendation for 1st timers and had their Spinach Lasagna. It was delicious; it had a red sauce and a nice full flavor, without being overpowering. Some of my fellow dinners were tempted by it but choose something else when they discovered that they could not order it without the olives, but besides adding a bit of depth the olives were not noticable. I also had one of their Pina Colada Smoothies, which I made disappear much too quickly.
There were eleven of us in all. Unfortunately, I forgot my camera at home so I don’t have any pictures to show you, but I have no doubt the other bloggers there will post some for you. I also had to leave early after just an hour and a half, so that I could get to work on time. I didn’t get a chance to talk to everybody as much as I would have liked, but those of us that live in the Austin area plan to get together again sometime soon.
I sat between LostInTX of La Vida Loca and Justin, who is Crystal of poco-cocoa’s husband. Capybaras United of Bike Bike Revolution arrived after finish a biking adventure around Austin. His wife Bearette of Potatoes in the Mist arrived early with Lisa of Nothing Special after taking in some of Austin’s offering earlier in the day. Sitting at the other end of the table were New Mezger of, surprisingly enough, New Mezger and Bdogg of Jumping on the Bandwagon..., with their respective spouses, but with the seating arrangement, I barely got a chance to say hello to them.
As a souvenir of the evening, the ever-crafty Crystal made a CD for us, which features some great music from Texas artists and others. I have to say that her level of attention to detail in the cases she created for them really impressed me, as did her musical selection.
Being the eternal people watcher that I am, I really loved the variety in our personalities and personal styles and also in seeing the different ways they manifest them in person then they do on our blogs. We are a varied group of people, but with our blogs we’ve gotten a chance to know each other bit by bit and our commonalties seem much more apparent then our differences. Viva la Blogs!

I was sad that you had to leave early but I know.. someone has to "make the donuts".. (I don't know why that commercial just popped into my head. I think of it whenver I think of dragging myself to work).
Had a great time sitting next to you and looking forward to being able to hang out again!
Personalities were varied but it was great how we all got along so well.

The get-together of Austin's bloggers sound great. It reminded me of a get-together with some of the fellow bloggers whom I got to know through blogging. That get-together was something I have not expected, but turned out great.
