Quitnet

I just got an email notification congratulating me on quitting smoking. It’s been two years and I totally forgot about it. Here are the stats they sent me.
Your Quit Date is: Saturday, May 31, 2003 at 2:00:00 AM
Time Smoke-Free: 731 days, 7 hours, 15 minutes and 27 seconds
Cigarettes NOT smoked: 10970
Lifetime Saved: 2 months, 23 days, 19 hours
Money Saved: $1,918.87

When I did quit this last time I found a wonderful, wonderful on-line support network through Quitnet. The support I received really helped for the first couple months. I really enjoy getting the occasional email from them telling me to savor my success.

I struggled with smoking for a very long time. I was always a very guilty smoker who was very good at quitting, but after a while would relapse. I’ve managed to avoid it this long and have no desire to imprison myself to nicotine again.

Those statistics look encouraging - how nice to save that much money! I am VERY thankful I never started smoking. I so easily get addicted to things - from chocolate to computer games - and would have found it very difficult to quit smoking if I'd ever started.

Nice going. Save money, feel better, and live longer. Food is my vice, but I'm doing much better too.

Oh good luck Julie and check out quitnet, really!

I do my fair share of overeating to, but I'm working on it. I still do mini over indulgences in sweets, mainly chocolate. Since I started blogging I've actually lost a couple pounds, despite being a little less active. I'm doing less late night mindless munching.

Lora, congratulations! My birthmom also quit smoking (after many, many years) with the help of an Internet quit-smoking site, too.
