It really wasn’t about what we did. It’s just that we actually got out and did something together. We haven’t gone out of town together in 8 months. We both really needed it. It’s not that we haven’t had the time; we just haven’t made the time.
I was so excited that I was like a little kid. I took 82 pictures (don’t worry I won’t show you them all). Many of them are just nonsense pictures from the passenger’s seat of the car. I told my husband that he was going to end up taking my camera away from me, because I was being such a clown, but he took it all in stride.
Right now I’m in the mode where I want to write about everything and show you lots of pictures. However that would turn into a long boring post that nobody would enjoy reading. So this is all for now. Tomorrow, I’ll give you a more concise description of our day.
A very relaxed couple that got a passerby to take their picture near the top of
Enchanted Rock.
Enchanted Rock.

I knew that there was an outliier of the Canadian Shield way down there, and this Enchanted Rocks looks like it. Glad you had such a grand getaway.
Sounds like a great day! I just love when I can get away with Mr. Right and no one else. Glad you had such a relaxing time.
I got to spend some time with my husband as well and it was great. I'm about to go out and put remay (white/light see-through cloth) over my garden sprouts coming up because the bugs are already eating them. When I lived in Texas (near Houston) it was near impossible to have a good garden...too hot for one thing.
Sounds great - I know what you mean about not making time. We need to do something like that too... one day!
I don't know as much as I would like to about the geological history of the area. It may in fact be part of the same geological formation. It's pretty unique around here and is the second largest batholith in the United States. I will add that the site I link says it's a 325ft climb(a typo I assume), but actually it's a 425ft climb in .6 miles or 1 km. It's pretty steep.
Glad to hear you had such a great day, Lora! And you made that climb in a cute skirt, to boot! Was this out in Fredricksburg?
awwww. my Lora looks so happy!!!
xoxo
Spending time with your hubby is the most important thing to do. I am glad to see you had a good time.
