"Don't It Make My Brown Eyes Blue"

I’m tired, I’m cranky, and I’m sick of shopping. People do this for fun? Well, shopping can be fun, but not today when I just wanted it over and done with. I did manage to find an appropriate suit. I only own one other. I’ve worn it once. It’s very heavy weight and getting old. I do hope that this suit sees better use.

I’m taking a brief break to check catch up on my blog reading and to regroup a bit. Next step tighten up the resume. Fun. I know, I know ... that which doesn’t kill me will make me stronger.

It occurs to me that I haven’t offered up enough fun lately. To divert you, I suggest this fun toy that I found in Rebecca’s Pocket. It tells you what color eye’s your children should have. Everybody on my side of the family has blue eyes, while my husband’s immediate family all have brown eyes. Not that it matters, but I thought the chance of us having blue-eyed children was nil. So, I feel a little better knowing there’s a chance, albeit a small one, that my children will get the blue eyes I so love having.

Oh, I have done that one before! Everyone in my husband's family has blue eyes and since mine are hazel, Darian had to have blue. Glad to know that science backs me up on it!

I would have thought it was about 50-50 whether you get a blue-eyed or brown-eyed child. If your husband has two brown-eyed genes, then your children will all have brown eyes (with one brown and one blue gene, brown being dominant). But if he has one brown and one blue gene, then your children would be either brown eyed (with one brown and one blue gene) or blue-eyed (with two blue genes).

We both have blue eyes so that means we could only have blue-eyed children - as, indeed, we have.

I never much liked most of biology at school but I found genetics fascinating.

My family is half blue, half brown. Mine are brown and both my sons are blonde with brown eyes...a nice combination, I think.

I hate, hate, hate shopping almost all of time--at least for clothes. I like having new clothes...I just hate hunting for them. :)

I find shopping to be alot more fun when I'm not looking for a certain something. my weight use to bug me a lot when I was shopping, but although I'm heavier then I'd like to be it just doesn't bug me like it use to.

Blond hair and brown eyes are a lovely combination. Both my husband entered the world as blonds, but have slowly turned into brunettes.
