"The Americans"

One of my favorite Northern neighbors has posted an old radio broadcast called The Americans, by Canadian Gordon Sinclair. In it Mr. Sinclair sings our praises and does a great deal of protective finger wagging to those who were criticizing us for our failures.
Having never heard the broadcast before it really moved me. I don't generally support the acts of aggression that our nation takes, but the same impulses that lead us to these actions also lead us to do many good things too. It's easy to forgot this sometimes, thanks for the reminder.

I am completely honored that Anvilcloud thought to post this on my nation's holiday and encourage you to check out both
The Americans and Raindrops.

Hi Lora, I understand completely the mixed feelings you expressed. Hey, I'm blogging from the Hull Public Library. It's been a real challenge to post on my blog from the road. Just wanted to say Hi!

I always think it's great to hear what other countries feel about us--sometimes I don't like what they have to say, but it does make you think....
