Benign

It’s official. The friend I mentioned in this earlier post, who had to have a tumor removed from his thyroid, is home resting and recovering. They’ve tested it and it is benign, although I guess there will be some retesting to confirm that. Hooray!

They had to remove the right lobe of his thyroid, but I gather that the part that actually produces the hormones was left unscathed. So he won’t medication. Hooray!

Due to the physical nature of his job he we’ll be out of work for a couple weeks, but he works with a terrific crew of people who have pitched in and donated time so that he won’t have to worry about the lost hours. Now he just needs to rest and heal. He’s still pretty tired, but no doubt he’ll start getting restless soon enough.

Thank you for all your warm thoughts and reassuring words. I shared them with him and they put a huge smile on his face.

It is wonderful that your friend is OK! I am glad that the scare is over for him-and for you!

I think it is so awesome that his co-workers are donating their hours to him-he doesn't need a financial burden on top of his physical stuff.

Tremendous news! I had to take Kalli back to the hospital today with an infection, so keep the good vibes rolling her way, if you will.
Thanks!
