Allergies or a cold?

I hate those first days of a cold when you still aren’t sure it you are just suffering from allergies or if it’s just a head cold. As soon as I convince myself that it’s allergies, the cold really kicks in and knocks me off my feet.

Of course, this cold had to coincide with exactly when they started offering me overtime at work. In 3 days I put in 36 hours with a horribly stuffed up head and average of about four hours of sleep a night. Finish that off with a migraine just for fun and you have a sick and exhausted Lora. However, I survived and managed to not bite anybody’s head off.

I’m feeling better now. I’m still a little stuffed up, but I’ve gotten a chance to catch up on sleep. My next move is to go soak in the bathtub and put a dent in the latest Harry Potter. I don’t quite understand why it’s taken me over two weeks to get to chapter 12. I use to dust off a book in a day or two on a routine basis.

I hope you're feeling better soon, Lora. Allergies and sinus headaches are bad enough but migraines and colds are even worse. I use Midrin when I get a migraine and it's great if I get it in time, but when I don't I'm down for the day.

I nearly read a book a day as a kid, but with becoming an adult you have so much more to do and keep up with. Books take more of a back seat. I'm lucky now when I read 2 books in a week. One a week is more typical. :-( And I haven't even started the new Harry Potter. Maybe by the end of the month. I haven't decided if I'm going to reread the earlier ones first or just read the new one.

Oh, lord, I'm lucky if I finish two books a month.

Yeah, I remember the book-a-day days.
