Meaner

I knew it would happen eventually, but I didn’t think it would happen so soon. I must be adjusting quickly to new demands of my job.

The little boy who just last week informed me that I needed to be “more mean” said to me tonight “You’re mean.” And I wasn’t even trying.

He certainly was suprised when I said "Thank you."

Gotta keep your balance with kids and not be thrown by the compliments or the insults!

Hey Lora - just a little note to say hi... I've been pretty lame these days when it comes to blogging... BUT, my new job as a nurse has been going well - I hope to update my blog soon & actually read some of my favorites too (yours being on the top of my list)...

Anyway, just thought I'd say hiya.

By the way, I showed your photo (the one on your blog) to my husband the other day and he said we look like we could be sisters. :o)

Anyway, take care & hope you're having a good summer...

-Beth

You know when you've arrived when the kids think of you as the "meanest" (or strictest, best disciplinarian, etc.) and you're still their favorite.

I always claim that I am a hard bitch at work (I'm a teacher) and they eat it up and come back for seconds. You just gotta get the hang of it -- how to be "mean" and still show that you love them, think they're funny and wonderful, smart, etc.
