Saturday

I did it. 5 days of walking. No, not ambitious goal, but I always find a good deal of satisfaction in getting things done. I admit, I am one of those oddballs that will write something down on my to-do list that I’ve already done, just so that I can have the satisfaction of crossing it off. I didn’t really get on the program with daily stretching this week, so I guess that will be my focus for next week. Gotta touch those toes while I still can. I definitely feel better for having gotten my rear in gear. It’s so funny how the expending of energy actually gives me more.

Tonight, I get to meet a rather large group of bloggers for dinner. Some of these are bloggers that I’ve read the blogs of for a while and some of them are new to me. I am definitely looking forward to meeting everybody. I’ve only met one of my blog friends face to face before, J Bo, who has recently announced her very suprising pregnancy, and I was pleasantly suprised at how well we hit it off in person.

I’m also excited because I get to try a new restaurant in town. So far I have been quite impressed with quality of the dining out experience in Austin. Of course, getting a table on a Saturday night can be quite a feat. We have late reservations and, unfortunately, I may need to slip out early because I am working the overnight shift tonight.

It also seems that more people that I know are giving blogging a try. An old friend that I recently reconnected with has started a blog. He calls it Mike's Undeveloped Corner of Suburbia. Like many of the people I know he likes to bike, but he actually make money doing it. He’s a very fun person and, if I'm lucky he might even show an occasional picture from the town we both grew up in.

Hi Lora, I'm in Austin now! I went to lunch with Lisa (wanderingpen.blogspot.com) after we did yoga together. The food was so good! I think it was called Kembley Lane Cafe. I had squash flautas. They rocked!

Lora, cool that you're exercising and meeting all kinds of bloggers. Oh, and thank you so much for mentioning me. Stay well and I'll get some pics of Kingston up for you. ;)

Lol. We have more in common than I realised. Truth is I don't really do lists much - but when I do I put the already done stuff there. Your comment cracked me up.

Hope you enjoy meeting the other bloggers - sounds great.

We went for a walk (or slog) too today. There's snow on the ground, but it was warm enough to be slushy. We didn't have a lot of fun, but I guess it was good for us.

Oh, I know just what you mean about to-do lists!! I write stuff on just to cross off too. My husband thinks it's hilarious. I'm also so bad at achieving my aims... I usually manage one day and then either forget or procrastinate.

Hope all goes well with the blogging meet-up.

Can't wait to hear about your dinner out with other bloggers! I'm very admirable of your exercising efforts. Maybe once I overcome my fatigue, I can cross exercise today off my list, too!!

I didn't know you were from Kingston! (I just knew you were from the Hudson River Valley.) One of my suitemates from junior year of college was from Kingston.

Small world.

Any kicking yet?
