High School Meme

Bearette and Bdogg both did this meme and I thought it was incredibly fun. However, I wasn't exactly the goody two shoes in high school that they were. Perhaps that's why I've come so far in life. Not!

Year: Graduated from high school in 1990.

1. Who was your best friend?
Carol, who I'm still incredibly close with.

2. What sports did you play?
I was on Swim Team, but I didn't even approach lettering.

Not applicable, my mother wouldn't let me get my drivers permit until I turned 18.

Probably working, or else hanging out with my high school sweetheart Nick.

5. Were you a party animal?
Not at all.

6. Were you in the "In Crowd"?
No way! I was actually voted among the most unique people in my graduating class, which in high school is not a sign of being popular. I thought it was kind of neat at the time, but am still not quite sure how I won the distinction.

Oh, yes!

8. Ever smoke a cigarette?
Far more than one.

No. I got average grades. Not only did I having learning differences, I also had a major problem with opening up a book once it became assigned reading.

10. Did you ever get suspended/expelled?
I was suspended more than once. See the answer to question 7, but I stopped getting caught, eventually. This and the attendance policy they briefly enforced is the reason my I didn't graduate in 1989.

It was really hot and a girl passed out.

19. Favorite memory of senior year?
The first time I discovered tubing on the Esopus.

20. Were you ever posted on the senior wall?
I don't know what that means, but be had a wall in front of the school where the deviants hung out and I spent a lot of time there.

21. Did you have a job your senior year?
In my senior year, I worked at Deisings Bakery and then at Grand Union, a grocery store.

Tubing on the Esopus...my goodness, what is that? it sounds like a Greek river in the underworld ;)

Oh, that brought back memories. I did it, too. The Esopus is a very fast, very cold creek people rent innertubes to ride down. Tributary to the Hudson, and is one of the few (I think 3) bodies of water that runs essentially northward in the world.

Oh, I guess I should clarify. Tubing down the Esopus is wonderful! The Espous Creek is in the Catskill Mountains and it's spring feed. The water is ice cold and there is nothing more relaxing, refreshing and envigorating to do on a hot summer day in Ulster County. I know there's tubing done in this area to, but I doubt the water gets as cold and I won't be doing it in my current condition.

I worked at Grand Union for a few years also, Lora. Later on I moved to Georgia and encountered deja vu with a store called "Big Star", I think It was owned by the same company and looked exactly like a Grand Union.

Now I want to go to the Esopus...though I guess it's too cold right now.
