Quick Update

No, I have not forgotten about the blogging world. I had a wonderful weekend with my niece, nephew and sister-in-law. I haven’t gotten a chance to even look at the pictures I took, yet, but as they are adorable kids I’m sure I’ll use a couple of them to brag with.

My workweek then kicked into high gear and I spent Monday and Tuesday trying to adapt back onto an overnights schedule and just generally getting the house back in order after the passing of the human tornados.

Then on Wednesday, I went in for my 32-week ob/gyn appointment. The long and short of things is I have been ordered by my doctor to rest more. It’s not that things are going poorly, but we are fast approaching the point in the pregnancy where I lost Ian and both my doctor and I are trying to take a little extra care. I have started to retain more water and my blood pressure went up a little bit and is still well within a normal range. This is how things started to go wrong last time, so of course my imagination is in overdrive. I’m feeling anxious, but at the same time I feel silly for feeling so anxious, because I know most of this is a monster of my own creation. My doctor was reassuring told me that these symptoms are to be expected in any healthy pregnancy.

The baby’s seems to be growing at quite a regular pace and is filling up his uterine room enough to where his kicks and jabs are becoming more twists and squirms, right on schedule. His heart rate was right in the 160 range where it has been consistently at each sweet time I’ve gotten to hear it. Two weeks from now my doctor will start doing some extra monitoring on me in the form of weekly ultrasounds and checks on general fetal health. Meanwhile, I’m supposed to work less, do less and relax lying on my side more. As I don’t own a laptop, I will not be using this time to update my blog, but instead might actually catch up on some of the reading I’ve been trying to do.

Also as my due date is quickly approaching and this new twist on things has me more concerned about an early entry into the world, we are trying to get prepared. My hubby is painting the baby’s room as I type. My mother-in-law and sister-in-law were kind enough to have gifted us with some of the larger items we will need early on and from there our nursery should easily start to fall into place.

I’ve already got all next week of work to rest and get things accomplished, so as long as things are going well I should be blogging again regularly, but over the next could days I’m following doctors orders and putting my feet up.

No need to worry, it'll be fine. A little rest will do you well, I'm sure. Best wishes from the old hometown...

Glad to hear you had a good week with your family. Do make sure you rest... I hope you can take it easy at work, too. Did I miss your blogging anniversary or is it still to come? Many happy returns of whenever it is, anyway!
