Watched a great little flick last night that I found while searching for that elusive film hubby and I may both actually like. "Danny Deckchair" didn't make much of an impression on the hubster, but I really enjoyed it.
I was incredibly funny, starring Rhys Ifans and Miranda Otto. While it fit the mold of your generic romantic comedy, not my usual genre, it was better than most. Even the NYT deamed it exceptable. It takes place in Australia, what's not to love about that. It was fanciful in that it's ludicrousness was reminiscent of some of the impossible, but somehow believable plot lines they had on “Northern Exposure” My all time favorite TV show. No, it doesn't have a lot of substance, but it struck a cord with my inner escapist.
