What I wouldn’t do for a slice of New York Style Pizza right now. Until I moved away from my hometown I didn’t realize that there was any other way to make them.
Pizza crusts should be thin and crispy. So that way, when you pick them up and fold them over the bottom of the crust cracks just a little bit. A neat trick I learned in college is dipping it in blue cheese salad dressing. Trust me it’s good.
Chicago style Deep Dish Pizza is wonderful too, but completely different. Actually, now that I think of it, I don’t think I’ve ever met a pizza I didn’t like.

Have you been to Rounders on West 6th street yet? They claim to have New York Style pizza--I don't know if it is or not, but I love it...crispy on the bottom and really flavorful.
I haven't met too many pizzas that I don't like. We have a chain called Boston Pizza up here, and they have some uniwue (to me) pizzas such as our fave -- Tropical Chicken, which has a white sauce rather than tomato-based.
I like thin-crust myself...Grimaldi's in Brooklyn is really good. I took your quiz:
Cheese Pizza
Traditional and comforting.
You focus on living a quality life.
You're not easily impressed with novelty.
Yet, you easily impress others.
The best pizza I ever had was at Bethany Beach, Delaware, this past June. It was like deep dish, but had this crust that approached croissant. It was sooooooooooo good!
BTW, I came across a journal that I felt might really touch you, Lora. It's
http://elijahbsmom.bravejournal.com/
I don't know if you would like to read it, or leave it alone, but it's the journal of a 32-year-old gal who lost her first baby to SIDS, at just one week old. I hope I'm not getting too personal here.
Thanks for your compliment on my journal. It reminds me of our beach vacation.
BTW, I really like the new look of your journal, too! Very bright and fresh.
My favorite pizza chain down here in the South has been Grandfather's Pizza but they aren't here in NC--I ate their pies a lot when I lived in GA. I liked Firehouse Pizza quite a bit also. I think they're Ohio based but I'm not sure. They used to be here but got bought out 2 years ago. Now it's mainly Dominos and Pizza Hut and I'd just as soon have frozen as either of their pizzas.
Thank you Jill. Not too personal, but well those emotions will always be a little to raw.
I have finally come to terms with the fact that pizza is my favorite food. frozen, delivery, gourmet... I pretty much love it all. I never get tired of it.
I've always enjoyed the New York style pizza, nice and thin. I recently ate a Chicago deep dish pizza and I really enjoyed it. My eyes were opened to how 1 slice of pizza can become a complex meal that has many ingredients and flavors that all mix together in harmony.
