I'm Pregnant!

Okay, I’ve been sitting on this for a whole two weeks. Which may help explain my lack of blogging lately. I felt it was important to call and tell some of the important people in my life personally before they read about it on my blog. Of course, everything I’ve been thinking about lately somehow ties back into the pregnancy, so that hasn’t left me with all that much to genuinely write about. Plus sleep has suddenly become much more important to me than blog surfing. Imagine that!

I’m six weeks pregnant, which means that conception occurred just four weeks ago due to some funky pregnancy mathematics that they do. My due date is May 2nd, which seems a long way off, but so soon at the same time. We were lucky and we got pregnant really quickly. Although I’ve been talking about getting pregnant for a while now, we didn’t really try until after I went to go see the doctorlast month.

Speaking of doctors, after my bad experience, I decided to just switch to one of her partners. The practice consists of five doctors and has an excellent reputation. I think in some ways I caught her on a bad day and she genuinely did not notice my history. I also failed myself in not being more assertive. I’ll be better prepared for my next appointment, which will be in two weeks, and try not to expect a midwife’s level of care.

So now that I’ve removed my self-imposed gag order, I’m sure I’ll be blogging more regularly again. I’ll probably even write about something besides babies, eventually.

Holy Shit!! Congratulations Lora.

That does explain why you've been gone so much. I hope your new doctor is a better fit for you. This relationship will be pretty important for the next 7+ months. Again, congrats!

It's still a little to early to find out the baby's gender. I'm not quite sure it we will ask to be told when that time comes.

Congrats! As far as doctors, you're doing the right thing. If you're not comfortable then no matter how good the dr is you won't feel good about it. Make sure they know what you need and want, and don't feel bad about changing again if you need to. :)
