Overnights

I managed to pick up few shifts at work this weekend. However, they were overnight shifts. This was my first experience with working overnight shifts in many, many years. I don’t like overnights, not really. There was so little for me to do and nothing that I did was among the reasons I wanted to work there in the first place. What a disruption to my sleep schedule. I’ve always been a night owl. Staying awake wasn’t the problem for me that it is for a many of my coworkers. However, I sleep much better, much more soundly at night. I’m a bit of an insomniac; so anything that makes it harder for me to sleep is, in my mind, evil. I guess if I did it on a regular basis it wouldn’t be as bad.

So now that I’ve recovered from my overnight shifts I’m swinging back into my vacation with style. I really don’t thing I did a single ambitious thing yesterday. I remember staring off into space a lot. Today, I’m feeling a little more energetic and have decided to start tackling projects: Purge, clean, and organize one area at a time!

We also are getting organized for house hunting. Our realtor went out of town this weekend, so we are going start looking at properties tomorrow. I’m so excited. We’ve actually been able to do a lot of research over the web, which has been nice. It’s helped us really clarify what we are looking for. Plus we’ve made a couple trips out to look at neighborhoods and the exterior conditions of listings, which has taken many properties out of consideration. I was told by one of my co-workers that we should look at 40 properties before we buy. Probably good advice, but tomorrow, we are looking at four and I’m quite sure that we will end up making an offer on one of those.

40 seems a mite large but 4 seems small. Of course if you know the market well for pricing and you also know exactly what you want--4 might be enough. *grimace* Good luck to you both!

40 sounds like a lot to me. Then again, I bought the first wedding dress I tried on (though I did try others).

Condolences on the insomnia, I know what that's like.

I'm really jealous! I've finally gotten to the point in my life where I'd like to buy a house and stay put. Unfortuately, I still have 8 years of the AF telling me to move around...
Keep us posted on what you find!

I bought a house this weekend. How many did I look at before I made an offer on one? 1.

You'll know when you see the right house.
